This Week on the Farm

I hope you enjoyed your week and had a wonderful holiday celebration with friends, family, and loved ones. My parents made a surprise visit this past week. We had a great time!

We’ve been busy in the garden, however, if you follow us on Instagram, you saw that we had a pretty nasty hail storm that destroyed our greenhouse (where we plant the tomatoes and peppers) and our garden. Even though it is heart wrenching to see such hard work go up in flames, it is a part of this life we have chosen, and I would not trade it for anything. We’ve cleaned up and started on plans to finish our second greenhouse (one that will hold up to hail better) and plant a fall garden in it.

We gathered logs and punched holes for the fence that will go around the horse arena, which we’re hoping to get finished this week.

I’ve done some serious planning for our homeschool year. I can’t believe it is almost time to start again! Where has the summer gone?!

Summertime is my favorite time of the year, though. It’s a time for late nights, watching sunsets on the front porch, playing and working – trying to make the most out of long days.

Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram for a daily dose of our shenanigans on the farm!

Until next time…
